On Sleepiness and Schadenfreude
*yaaaaaaaaaawn* Geez y'all, I am beat. Bobby and I were up until about 4 o'clock last night, me finishing the strip while he eagerly nagged me to actually get it done instead of crawling into my super-cozy bed and riding my little star-ship off to Dreamland to play with Kirby and friends. Thus, be sure to thank Bobby (a little bit) for today's strip. It'd probably have gotten finished...well, late tonight otherwise.
I haven't been getting very much sleep lately, due to whatever wacky circumstance happens to come along, and it's wearing me down pretty badly. For example, the night before last, someone apparently left all the windows in the house open as well and putting a broken fan (set to only work at the Very High setting) in my room. Now, this is understandable when it's blazing hot out, but it also makes it extremely hard to sleep when you have God-knows-how-much wind blowing open your gums in the middle of the night. To make matters worse, one hell of a storm came bursting through Springfield and the wind and storm that came through our house of course wove its way from open window to open window, making the entire building sound like it was screaming the cry of the dead.
About this time, I shut my door.
As if this weren't enough, it seemed everyone thought it necessary to be as loud as possible during my mom's preparations for work (at 5:30am), meaning once again, I was awakened by the voice of a news anchor bellowing out the state of a cow that had been hit by a car. Frustrated, exhausted, and more than a little perturbed, I buried my head under about ten pillows (literally) until I passed out from lack of air or exhaustion – one of the two.
Then the nightmares came.
But that's another story.
Needless to say, your friendly neighborhood cartoonist is beat...yet he still got the comic for you on time. :D You're welcome.
Joe out.
diamonds do appear to be just like broken glass to me
