Scary Similarities

Ah, brotherly love. Or brotherly loathe, whichever you prefer.

I've discovered a fascinating phenomenon when it comes to drawing the strip. Whenever I have to draw Joe and Justin in the same panel, it is actually impossible for me to draw them separately and have them look correct. You'd think it would be a simple matter, what with them looking the exact same and all – I mean really, just draw Joe twice and you're good, right? Well you're not.

The sad fact is, I have to draw a very basic Joe outline, sans hair and facial expressions, and copy it. Otherwise, if I tried to draw it by hand, Justin will somehow develop a massive overbite or Joe will turn out looking like Cher. It's like my brain realizes that the other character is not who it's supposed to be and does its damndest to make sure that I realize that the horrifying doppleganger is not actually the original and that we must go and visit Dr. von Virchtenstein before all the rest of the duplicates come to take over the world.

In other news, saving money is a lot harder than previously expected. In the three weeks since I've started my job, for whatever reason, I've only managed to come up with about $500 towards the $425 it takes per month to pay my rent. Before anyone says anything though, the only expenses I've paid are towards groceries, my $100 worth of textbook for the summer, gas and a new pair of sunglasses when my old ones vanished. Granted, that's probably $200 right there, but things happen. I'm sort of feeling the stress when it comes to that, and it's at times like these I wish I was making more money with the strip. So, without further ado, GO BUY SOMETHING FROM THE STORE! For real, the prices there are about as low as I can make them and still make a profit...that ought to at least help with the grocery bills. Please?

Alright, /beg. I've got cars at home to feed.

Joe out.
