Normalcy is Overrated
It's a good thing I decided to go to sleep early last night...I think. Waking up this morning was nothing short of traumatic. My head was pounding, my jaw felt like it was going to spring forth with thousands of a chest burster's pissed-off cousins, I had a fever, and I was in such overall PAIN that Mom had to help me get out of bed. It was not a pretty sight. Still, I promised you a strip and a strip ye shall have. Many thanks again to Bobby for that...er, enlightening guest strip. It was creative, I'll give him that.
I'm getting the hang of the new style, which is great, although I've received mixed reviews as to whether or not using photomanipulated backgrounds was a good thing. Personally? I love 'em for the outdoor shots and other situations where I don't feel like hand-drawn junk can really capture what I want in the strip. Especially those outdoors scenes -- LOVE 'EM. In this latest one, I really wanted to try and keep as much hand-drawn stuff in as I could just to see which one I preferred. I think as a whole, I like hand-drawn for inside shots and pictures for the outside. I think that's what I'll go with -- I'm the artist! I get to make those decisions. :)
Also, Justin, Ceili and I have been pimping the strip and actually started using Project Wonderful, which is a very good name for such an amazing service. We've had more new readers in the past week than we have since the site launched. It's phenomenal and I love it. Here's a rundown as to our biggest hits here in the States.
Missouri -- 448
Georgia -- 38
W. Virginia -- 31
Massachusetts -- 28
California -- 25
New York -- 21
Connecticut -- 20
Idaho -- 16
Michigan -- 16
Pennsylvania -- 13
Guys, that's amazing. Tuesday alone we wound up getting about as many new site hits as we had when we first launched. That's incredible. Like, turn green and become super-powered awesome incredible. I had some fun reading our analytics page which told us where some states had no readers and others had just one visit from one place. THAT'S RIGHT MIKE, I'M TALKING TO YOU.
...alright, that wasn't directed at anyone. Still, for just an instant, I like to think I screwed with the heads of every Mike who read(s) the strip. Thanks to Yahtzee for that little idea.
Anyway, once I get back to being up and around, I'll have more ads made, hopefully more money in the bank, and more hopefully still (that made no sense) have more readers. Thanks so much guys.
Joe out.
everything is wonderful now
